John Kaweske
I build at the intersection of principle and practice, guided by my investment philosophy. My journey began in private equity and venture capital, where I learned how capital behaves when incentives are aligned and data is honest. From there, I transitioned into operations, where physics, people, and regulation determine the truth every day.
In Brazil, I founded Bio Clean Energy S.A., leading both greenfield and brownfield projects from site selection and permitting through EPC commissioning, ANP certification, lab quality systems, and day-to-day plant performance. I managed budgets exceeding $150 million and teams of more than 300 people, gaining a deep respect for the full stack, from feedstock to customer delivery.
I have also led in regulated consumer markets. As an executive with North Star Cannabis, I helped scale the company to a state leader through licensing execution, seed-to-sale compliance, facility buildouts, and brand growth, supported by disciplined P&L and operating controls. That experience reinforced a core belief: lasting value comes from reliable operations, clear governance, and transparent books.
Additionally, my team background includes being a blockchain patent holder focused on traceability and audit in complex supply chains, as well as the named inventor of a nanotech reactor concept designed to enhance efficiency and tighten process control. I write about AI strategy and vertical operations because technology matters only when it enhances throughput, quality, safety, and trust.
My background is not merely a list of titles; it is a record of building real organizations.
We believe that progress is practical and is rooted in our investment philosophy. It thrives in reliable plants, clean books, and products that work every day for customers who do not have time for magic. We measure ourselves by three promises. First, do what you say you will do, at the quality you said, on the date you set. Second, tell the truth early, especially when it is uncomfortable. Third, invest in people and systems that can survive volatility. Our philosophy rejects theater and emphasizes clarity over jargon, stewardship over spin, and patient compounding over noise. We build for durability, not headlines. Our team background supports the belief in the primacy of dignity; a company is a community of human beings, not a machine that consumes them. When people are respected, they create smarter processes, safer operations, and better outcomes. That is not mere sentiment; it is strategy. Finally, we maintain an investor mindset. Every choice has a cost of capital, a risk curve, and a time horizon. We use this lens to avoid fragile wins and pursue work that can stand for years. In short, our philosophy is simple: do honest work, create useful things, and leave systems stronger than you found them.

Two books frame how we think about the future and where we allocate attention, aligning with my investment philosophy. I Am That I Am and That Is Enough is a return to being, arguing that worth does not stem from exhaustion or constant output. It invites us to step beyond fear into a life ordered by sovereignty, compassion, and presence. In a world of accelerating change, this inner foundation is not a luxury; it is operating capital for clear decisions and resilient teams, forming the background of a strong team background necessary for success. Civilization Event Horizon serves as a map for the external world. It examines artificial intelligence, automation, and economic compression, questioning what happens as work, value, and security decouple from traditional employment. The thesis is sober and constructive: understand the curve, redesign institutions, and invest in systems that align dignity with productivity, making them partners rather than rivals. Together, these pages present a simple thesis for investment and for life. Anchor the person, modernize the system, and build companies that fulfill human needs through the next cycle. When the inner is steady and the outer is understood, strategy becomes service, and execution becomes care. That is the work we choose, especially in the realm of venture capital.
